Aragorn

Aragorn son of Arathorn spent sixty-seven years as a nameless Ranger before claiming the throne that was his birthright. Raised in secret as Estel (Hope) after his fathers death, he learned his true identity at twenty and then chose decades of anonymous service over immediate kingship. He served under kings in Rohan and Gondor as Thorongil, proved his military brilliance at the raid on Umbar, and wandered in lands where the stars are strange - all while carrying the shards of Narsil and the weight of Isildurs failure. When he finally entered Minas Tirith, he came not as conqueror but as healer, fulfilling the prophecy that the hands of the king are the hands of a healer. His love for Arwen echoed the ancient pattern of Beren and Luthien - mortal and immortal united, with mortality as the price of their union. At two hundred and ten, he chose to surrender his life willingly, accepting death as the gift it was meant to be.
